The Daydream Flip!!! To not lose too many words here as we are daydreaming today and we need to go out and skate, let`s just say that this is not a beginner’s trick and you need to know some basics before you consider going for it.
This is basically a Varial double Heel Flip and as you know you usually need quite the power to execute the double Heel Flip and so it`s just the same with a Daydream Flip.
Assuming you can make a regular Varial Heel Flip, we will be very short in describing the first steps. So, set your feet in your most comfortable Varial Heel Flip position but put your front foot closer to the center of the board to get a stronger flick. You will need to send the board into Heel Flip rotation with a decent amount of power in order to get it double. Consequently, the board will probably go in front side Shove-it over rotation in the first tries. You will have to send the board into the front side Shove-it rotation really gently but just at the right moment
Maybe try just a regular double Heel Flip first to get the feel of the flick and then go for adding a front side Shove-it instead of just going for Daydream flip directly,…
Next important thing is that you will also need to pop stronger and higher to get that „hang time“ for the board so in general it means the trick will demand a lot of commitment before you will roll away smoothly. If your body weight is more on your front foot, you will be able to catch the board with your front foot, which will make it look really sick. And don`t forget, it feels like a Daydream when you roll away!
