How to 720 Flip (with Images) – Skateboard Tricks

Ok, we are slowly getting into madness! If you are one of those that use to throw 720 flips over enormous gaps and stair sets in the Tony Hawk pro skater game, just sit back and think about these words, it can change your perspective on this particular trick.

It is a crazy trick that some will never get even with their best effort and this is probably the reason we don’t really see it often in street parts, not even in game of skate. It will take a lot of commitment even if you know exactly what to do.

How to 720 Flip on a skateboard - visual guide

The easiest way to clarify what we are doing is to say 720 flip is a kick flip + 720 shove-it. Same base as 360 and 540 flips, but we will need to pop a way higher to give the board space to make 720 shove-it.

Set your feet in 360 flip position but put your front foot a bit closer to the back foot as it will help you flick stronger. In order to fully make 720 shove-it, set your entire back foot on the tail so you can scrape better and push your board into a shove-it turn as hard as you can. You should feel how much power you need after a few tries.

Once you get the picture of how much power you need and what exact front foot position works best for you just try to land a 720 shove-te first. It can help you not to land primo in the first tries but, if you are comfortable with 360 flips enough you can sure try to add a flip at the first beginning. If you can 3flip, it shouldn’t be difficult to understand how to add a flip,… Once you pop, just press a bit down with your front toes so the board will start flippin` and if the back foot scrape was perfect your board should go into a 720 flip with ease 🙂

Remember it will probably take way more time than with some other tricks but as always, patience.

brings scores and more commitment is needed, the bigger joy will come around once you land that clean! Skate or die!
